About  IELTS

IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System. Every year, over 5 million students study abroad. IELTS is an English language exam required of applicants who wish to study or work in countries where English is the native language of communication, such as the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. IELTS assesses test takers' ability to communicate in the four basic English language skills of listening, reading, speaking, and writing. Types of IELTS Exam

IELTS exams are divided into two categories: Academic IELTS and General IELTS. The Speaking and Listening segments are the same for both of these exams, but the source material for the Reading and writing segments varies depending on which test the individual is taking. Listening, Reading, and Writing sections of the IELTS exam are completed on the same exam day, with no breaks in between.

General IELTS

Eligibility Criteria for IELTS?

IELTS is a language proficiency test administered to candidates who wish to study in English-speaking countries and gain global exposure.

The English language is the only medium of instruction in the majority of colleges, universities, and educational institutions in the major English-speaking countries. As a result, in order to pursue their higher education successfully, applicants should have a basic understanding of the language.

IELTS  Test Types

The IELTS exam can be taken Online (Computer Based) and Offline (Paper-Based Test). The test pattern for both modes is the same. The listening and speaking sections are the same for both academic and general, while the writing and reading sections are slightly different.

You get marked on these 4 sections and you get the IELTS total score as well. The total score is the sum of the scores in the four skill areas. The total test duration is 2 hours and 45 minutes.
